Eunkyung Han

My practice is a visceral dialogue between the time-honored traditions of Korean pottery and the captivating unpredictability of modern atmospheric firing. Inspired by the Joseon-dynasty Moon Jar—a symbol of abundance, serenity, and the humble beauty of void—I translate the elegance of traditional curves into contemporary forms.

For me, clay is a responsive collaborator. Through the rhythmic motion of the wheel, I explore the delicate balance between precision and spontaneity. My work seeks to evoke a sense of calm and harmony, inviting the quiet beauty of a timeless aesthetic into the ritual of daily life.
